Remedial Massage

available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.

Massage is a natural therapy and has been widely used for centuries to help people manage stress in the mind and body. It is now generally accepted that stress may be responsible for a range of common ailments including skin diseases, such as psoriasis and eczema, headaches and migraine, digestive disorders, high blood pressure, backache and depression. The medical profession estimates that 80% of conditions are stress related.

Recent research has shown that massage therapy includes the following beneficial effects:
  • Aids relaxation and reduces anxiety and stress
  • Improves mental alertness
  • Improves muscle tone and flexibility
  • Reduces blood pressure and heart rate
  • Improves blood and lymph circulation
  • Increases endorphins, the body’s natural pain killers
  • Boosts the immune system
  • Promotes a greater sense of well-being

Therapeutic massage does not cure ailments but it does help the body and mind function better so that good health can be maintained. The Arthritic Association recommends massage.

Many people have forgotten how it feels to be truly relaxed. Massage can put you back in touch with the feeling of well being that is possible when tension is released. It is equally helpful for men and women of any age and will be tailored to suit individual needs.
