WHERE DOES REFLEXOLOGY ORIGINATE?Reflexology is an ancient healing art first practiced by the early Indian, Chinese and Egyptian peoples. In the 1930’s Eunice Ingham developed and refined what is now known
as foot reflexology. She showed that congestion or tension in any
part of the foot matches that in a corresponding part of the body. Therefore
when you treat the big toes for example, there is a related effect
on the brain and head, and treating the whole foot has a relaxing and
healing effect on the whole body.
Reflexology works subtly but powerfully, activating the body's own healing forces and correcting the imbalances, which follow illness, stress, injury and disease. Gentle pressure is applied to the feet where there are reflex areas corresponding to all the systems of the body. It is suitable for all ages and is known to be helpful in a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. |

HOW CAN REFLEXOLOGY HELP ME?Reflexology activates the body’s own healing forces, correcting the imbalances that follow illness, stress, injury or disease. Sensitive, trained hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet, and by working on these points can release blockages and restore the free flow of energy to the body. Tensions are eased and circulation and elimination improved. The therapy is suitable for all ages. It has been shown to be helpful to a wide range of acute and chronic conditions including:
You might choose to receive reflexology as a form of relaxation, or as a special treat where it will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. If you have an ongoing condition however, you will need to allow up to 6 regular treatments to feel the full benefits of treatment as it may take time for you body to adjust and heal. Once your body is in tune it is wise to have regular treatments in order to maintain health and well being. |
