Sports Injury Massage

available Friday morning.

Sports injury massage is a deep tissue massage developed to treat specific injuries whether acquired through sport, postural disturbances, lifestyle, repetitive movements or stress. It is equally effective for relieving pain due to under-use of a muscle group (common among those with a more sedentary way of life). It can be used as a preventative measure as well as to break down scar tissue and help realign muscle fibres, allowing the body to perform to its full potential.

During the initial consultation, Emma takes a full case history and makes relevant assessments. Her dynamic approach to the massage immediately addresses muscular imbalances, reduces pain and increases mobility. Stretching is used where necessary. In addition, Emma makes recommendations to enable clients to help them selves.

Some of the more common conditions Emma has successfully treated are:

  • Back pain including lower back pain
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Neck & shoulder pain
  • Postural complaints
  • Repetitive strain injury (RSI)
  • Scar tissue
  • Sciatica pain
  • Strained ligaments
  • Tennis and golfer’s elbow
  • Tight or tired muscles

Alternatively for people who are suffering with stress related symptoms then Emma can offer a Theraputic Massage. When the body is relaxed good health is promoted and our body functions at its full capacity. Theraputic massage aids this process working to re-balance, re-energise and increase the body-mind connection. Emma works as deeply or as lightly as the client requires, with best results achieved through regular visits.
